Chitose Abe founded “Sacai” in 1999 as a small womenswear clothing line. The brand name is also the maiden name of the founder. The company came into being because Chitsoe was fed up with all the boring designs that amazon other brand created. Thus, she made something that has evolved into a leading luxury brand. It has roots worldwide and has collaborated with some of the biggest brands ever.

Nike has been the leading brand when it comes to collaborations with Sacai. The journey of unique sneakers between the shoe company and luxury label started in 2015. In the beginning, they partnered up only for apparel. In contrast, in 2019, both companies came together to produce footwear since the first collab shoe became a massive hit, as much as the combination of LDV and Waffle Daybreak got the sneaker of the year award. 

The shoe debuted to the public in Sacai’s Spring 2019 collection as the makeover of the legendary Blazer mid silhouette. Both brands created a colourful mid-top with double tongue, lacing, and a swoosh to flex your favourite Nike. 

It has a clean rubber outsole for optimal gripping and a comfy feel. The shoe also comes with a front shop and four faux patches. Overall, it has deconstructed the sneaker theme.

In 2021, the shoe was one of the latest editions in the collab collection. It also had Fragment on board to make this shoe a banger. It was the makeover for the infamous LDWaffle in a more subtle light smoke grey tone. 

The fusion of LDV and Daybreak features a double amazonthing, tongue, laces, and swooshes. As three brands collaborated to make this shoe a true icon, it has brandings all over its silhouette. The shoe has premium light smoke grey top and premium suede material.

One thing that most of the shoes have in common is the light colour tones. The White Nylon makeover shoe was released in 2020 at Sacai’s Paris Fashion Week. 

The partnership saw the birth of new materials for this shoe, making it even better. It has white nylon material with grey suede overlays, giving the shoe a two-tone. Like other shoes in the collection, it has double soles, tongues, and swooshes.

The iconic panda colour scheme shoe made its debut in 2020. It was refreshing to see the collab with a Vapor Waffle silhouette. The shoe takes shoe from Classic Pegasus, released in 1983. It has double tongues, soles, and swooshes.

Nike launched the shoe in 2019 with the LD Waffle silhouette. It is a combination between LDC and Waffle Racer. The shoe released during Paris Fashion Week has brandings featured all over its swoosh, tongues, and laces.

Both brands have come together to make some of the most iconic shoes in the modern world. It takes hints from the past to deliver some of the most futuristic designs. It comes in both decent and over-the-top colours.
